1. What we collect
When you use ClipNote, we collect only what's strictly necessary to make the product work:
- Your email address, used to create and sign in to your account.
- The videos you share to ClipNote, streamed through our processing pipeline and deleted immediately after transcription. We never keep a copy.
- The transcripts and notes we generate from those videos, stored in your account so you can read them later.
- Basic usage data — how many notes you create per month — used to enforce the free tier and subscription limits.
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, device identifiers beyond what Apple requires for authentication, or any data that isn't necessary to deliver the service.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used for exactly three things:
- To transcribe the videos you share and generate structured notes from them.
- To let you read, search, and organize those notes across your devices.
- To enforce free-tier limits and, if you subscribe, honor your entitlement.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your notes to train AI models. We do not show you ads.
3. Third-party services
ClipNote uses the following services to deliver the app. Each one handles only the data required for its specific purpose:
- Supabase — authentication and encrypted storage for your notes, folders, and subscription state.
- Cloudflare — hosts our API worker and processes your videos in a stateless pipeline.
- Cloudflare Workers AI — performs transcription and note generation. Transcripts are not retained by Cloudflare beyond the immediate request.
- RevenueCat — handles subscription lifecycle events if you upgrade to Pro. RevenueCat sees only a hashed user identifier and your purchase status.
- Apple — processes Sign in with Apple requests and App Store purchases.
4. How long we keep your data
- Videos are deleted from our pipeline the moment transcription finishes — usually within 10 seconds of upload.
- Notes, folders, and tags are kept for as long as your account is active.
- Your email and subscription state are kept for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account, everything above is removed from our databases within 24 hours.
5. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Export your data as Markdown from the Settings tab.
- Delete any individual note from the Library or Note Detail views.
- Delete your entire account and all associated data from the Account screen in Settings. This is irreversible.

6. Security
All traffic between the app and our API is encrypted using TLS. Your notes are stored encrypted at rest in Supabase. Your Supabase session is kept in the iOS Keychain and the App Group container, never written to disk as plaintext.
7. Children
ClipNote is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle your data, we'll notify you by email before the change takes effect.
